Set Sail for a Pirate Party Extravaganza

Kids Wooden Toy Chest

Yo ho ho and a bottle of soda pop....throw a pirate party and the fun never stops! When you use pirates as the theme, all of your guests will set sail on an ocean of laughter and excitement. This is a great party to put together for little boys and even little girls who usually like the idea of a fairy party will like the ideas I am going to share with you. When you select pre-filled party bags brimming with pirate loot, you have a head start on the festivities.

Create invitations that look like treasure maps, use parchment paper, or construction paper, roll them up, and tie them with golden ribbon. Then give these to your guests or you can place them in cylindrical containers and mail them. To add more fun to the invites, actually make the treasure maps real by pacing off steps and depositing a small treasure for each guest to find in the yard using their invitations as their guides. Wholesale party bags can provide you with plenty of treats and goodies for your guests. You can hide the treasures among bushes if you do not want to dig holes for them to uncover. (If you opt for a party at the beach, the invitation treasure maps will work great. and keep everyone busy.)

The colors are purple, black, green, red, blue, and yellow. The brighter the better, use vivid and vibrant colored bandanas and streamers to decorate the party area. Group balloons together and use stuffed parrots and toy birds to add to the atmosphere. If the party is at your home, mark the front door with a big X or with a pirate hat and flag. You can top the table with a bright blue cloth to represent the ocean and order a cake that is made to resemble a pirate ship or a pirate hat. You can even create a cake that resembles a treasure chest and top it with gold wrapped candy coins. Add to the fun and decorations by using novelties and pocket money toys to create fun table toppings.

Scavenger hunts are great fun and you can litter the back yard with the pirate treats from pre-filled party bags that guests can go and search for. The list of items may include a spyglass, two whistles, one parrot feather, three gold coins, an eye patch, and a skeleton key. You can also add small musical toys or wooden toys that you have purchased to the scavenger hunt.

Tie 3 or 4 balloons to the children's' ankles with string and then send them out to chase each other. The balloons are their boats and the idea is to use your feet to stomp on the other boats and pop them. Whoever has the most boats left will be the winner.

Arrange some tin cans on some planks and let the guests fill water balloons and toss these at the royal fleet on the horizon (the tin cans) to see who can sink the most ships.

As the pirate party draws to a close, you can always use party bag fillers and loot bags with candies and small novelties as favors and thank you gifts. Your guests will go home with their pirate loot and you and your family will have had a grand pirate adventure without having to set sail on the ocean.
